The Learning Lensman is an amateur photographer, just like most people out there with cameras. As much as he would rather be out shooting his camera, he has a day job which allows him to indulge in his hobby.

While he has been taking pictures since he was in fourth grade and took up film photography class in university summer class, The Learning Lensman only became serious about the hobby back in 2007 when he picked up a used Canon 20D DSLR. He’s picked up other pieces of gear and knowledge since then.

This site is his way of giving back by sharing what he’s learned about film and digital photography along the way. It won’t have many reviews featuring really exotic stuff (unless The Learning Lensman wins a huge sweepstakes prize) or hardcore lens testing (there are other sites who are very good at this).

What you’ll see here are things learned, some insights gained and answers to questions the The Learning Lensman had asked as he went along. Recently, he has found himself writing about photography news and events in the Philippines where he resides.
